About the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce

Chamber Accomplishments

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE OFFICE - The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the addition of a second satellite office at Smith Mountain Lake.  The office is located at 1095 Water Wheel Drive just inside Bedford County before crossing the Halesford Bridge into Franklin County.  Curry Martin, 2008 Chairman of the Board, had this to say:  "We expect this office to provide a very positive benefit to the BACC members at Smith Mountain Lake through a high-profile visibility and networking opportunities provided through the Chamber.  With a satellite office already established in Forest and now also at the Lake, we're pulling Bedford county businesses together in a progressive manner and working toward a better business environment for all of us."  (540-297-4781)

President Susan Martin remarks, "The addition of this satellite office is another step our Chamber is pleased to take in providing greater service to all of our membership base in Bedford City and Bedford County.   Finding effective methods of connecting all of our communities becomes a challenge, especially as the county continues to expand.  We are so pleased to see such positive growth in our business communities, throughout the entire county."

This satellite office will also house an extension of the Bedford Area Welcome Center and will be managed by Bedford City/County Tourism office.

FOREST SATELLITE OFFICE - The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the addition of a satellite office in Forest.  The new facility is located at 14805 Forest Road in the Forest Square Shopping Center and will provide additional opportunities to promote our area inclding, but not limited to, tourism destinations and higher visibility and referrals for our area businesses.  "We have a strong membership base in Forest and it makes sense to our Board of Directors that we develop a stronger presence in the area," said Don Shilling, Chairman of the Board and President and CEO of FNB.  The satellite office will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and will be a staffed location.  The facility will offer meeting space and additional exposure for Bedford Area Chamber members.  Forest is a part of the Bedford community and we believe that the satellite office provicdes us with an opportunity to increase visibility for all of our members, while maintaining the service level that our members deserve and expect.  The satellite office will house an extension of the Bedford Area Welcome Center and will be managed by Bedford City/County Tourism office.    (434-525-7860)
