Hickory Hill Announces Sunset Saturday First
Moneta, VA  04/26/2012 — In its music series of seven years, Hickory Hill Vineyard’s Sunset Saturday has never had an occasion such as this.  This season’s opening performance on May 12 is the culmination of a winter’s worth of work.  Bedford duo Ken and Alli will release their new CD entitled “Ken & Alli Live at Hickory Hill.”  The duo recorded the tracts at last year’s October Sunset Saturday and have worked all winter to have the CD available for release at the May 12th performance.
The Sunset Saturday music series will be ten performances between May 12 and October 13th and features many local artists. Some have graced the stage at Hickory Hill Vineyard’s Sunset Saturday before and some are new.  The CD release is not the only ‘first’ for this year’s lineup.  The winery will feature The DeafAids, a Beatles tribute band on June 16.  Two members of the band will return on July 21st as The Migrating Coconuts.

The 2012 Hickory Hill Sunset Saturday lineup is as follows:

May 12 Ken & Alli

May 26 Larry, Mike & Chip

June 16 The DeafAids

June 30 Ken & Alli

July 7 Rose Colored Lasses

July 21 Migrating Coconuts

July 28 The Wax Gurus

August 11 Ken & Alli

September 1 Rose Colored Lasses

October 13 Kat Mills

All performances are 7-10pm and will be at Hickory Hill Vineyards, LLC, 1722 Hickory Cove Lane, Moneta, VA.  540.296.1393, www.SMLwine.com.

Hickory Hill Vineyards, celebrating its 11th year as a VA farm winery, is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the east side of Smith Mountain Lake.  The Furrows first planted the vineyard in 1992 and welcome guests to the 1923 farm house tasting room and gift shop.  Gorgeous hay fields that once supported wheat and cattle are now an established vineyard producing world-class award-winning wines, including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Vidal Blanc.
