Understanding the needs of travelers, we have opened a beautiful Welcome Center. This new facility has more than 10,700 square feet of exhibit, display, meeting, reception and community space, in addition to the administrative offices of the City and County ’s joint Tourism Department. The building’s large expanses of glass, with views toward the Peaks of Otter and the National D-Day Memorial, were paramount in the design.
Exhibits within the Welcome Center showcase the area’s many attractions and amenities, as well as its commerce and vision for the future. The building is fully accessible, with parking for the disabled and for motor coaches. Full service camper hookups and sanitary stations are available. The Welcome Center provides a place for visitors and citizens alike to learn about the many points of interest and benefits offered in and around the Bedford Area, as well as a facility for use by community groups and businesses.
We’re just a phone call, email or fax away. Bedford, centrally located between Lynchburg and Roanoke, is just off U.S. 460, within a few minutes drive from both the Roanoke and Lynchburg airports. Whether you are planning a weekend getaway, a family day trip, a week-long outdoor adventure or days of historic discovery, we will help you with your itinerary and travel arrangements, to make your stay one of the best vacations you have ever experienced.
