Atlantic Bay Mortgage Opens in Bedford City ![]() On Wednesday, February 29, the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to welcome Atlantic Bay Mortgage to its membership with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony during Atlantic Bay’s Open House. Atlantic Bay Mortgage has opened recently at 203 North Bridge Street in Bedford. Chamber Ambassador Bill Moss (Foster Fuels & Xango) managed the ceremony introducing David Henry, Regional Director of Business Development at Atlantic Bay. Henry introduced Mortgage Broker Janie Arrington and provided us with information about Atlantic Bay Mortgage, addressing his comments to the attendees who packed the house and spilled out onto the sidewalk. Atlantic Bay Mortgage is a mortgage banking group headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with more than 30 offices across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and West Virginia. The addition of the local lender’s office brings significant financial expertise to the Bedford community. “Buying a home and managing home equity through refinancing are daunting financial decisions for most people,” says Atlantic Bay’s Mortgage Banker Janie Arrington. “With a local office like this, clients can come in, sit down with me and get comfortable about the whole mortgage process. I was born and raised in Bedford, so I’m really excited about being here!” Moss also introduced other Chamber Ambassadors who were in attendance: Rebecca Sturm-Clauser, Directional Coaching; Catherine Eubank, GruvenCat Bakery; Stefanie Prokity, Successful Solutions; and Angela Noel, Wheeler Broadcasting. Chamber President Susan Martin introduced Board members in attendance (Chairman Anita Lowe, Bedford Memorial Hospital and Terry Wood, Boxley). Martin then welcomed Atlantic Bay Mortgage to membership, recognizing City Manager Charlie Kolakowski who remarked, “We’re pleased to have this new business in Bedford. This is the kind of company we’re excited to have as a part of our business community.” Henry expressed the company’s interest in supporting local business supported by the offering of several door prize drawings which were gift certificates purchased from our local businesses.
