Ivy Bridge Cafe Under New Management Ribbon Courtesy of Glo-Lyn Flowers ![]() “Nothin’ says Lovin’ like Something from the Ivy Bridge Oven” Early Wednesday morning on December 14th, Ivy Bridge Cafe was stopping traffic on Bridge Street. As the traffic light brought motorists to a halt in front of his location, Joe Morino and his wait staff were passing out freshly baked cookies and menus to passersby to promote the Grand Re-Opening of Ivy Bridge Cafe. While the restaurant has been at this location for several years, it has been within the past two months that it opened under new ownership and management by Joe Morino and his wife, Sherry. Joe commented, “We are so happy to be here in Bedford. Ivy Bridge Cafe has a wonderful reputation in the community and we want to continue to build on that community relationship.” The popular Ivy Bridge Cafe’s menu is intact, with the addition of some local favorites. Something else that has been retained is the wait staff, which shares Joe’s passion for customer service. As Board and Chamber members began arriving for the 10 AM ribbon cutting ceremony, they were greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly baked cookies and brownies. A sampling of the Cafe’s specialty sandwiches was also offered for their enjoyment. Chamber Ambassador Coach Rebecca Sturm-Clauser (Directional Coaching) managed the ribbon cutting, welcoming attendees and introducing the Ivy Bridge owners and Chamber President Susan Martin. Ms Martin made congratulatory remarks to the Morinos and introduced Board members Anita Lowe (Bedford Memorial Hospital) and Bedford County’s Tourism Director, Sergel Troubetzkoy. In addition to Joe’s friends and well-wishers, Chamber members also in attendance were: Teresa Tyler, AmeriCare Plus; Dan Plattus, Bedford Main Street; Eric LaBorie, Camp Karma; Kathy McGary, Cup-A-Joe; Jeff Fulgram, National D-Day Memorial; Doug Harrington, Premier Limousine Service, Meg Spurrier, SML Vacation Rentals; Reagan Flaherty, Shentel; and Wendy Witt, Witt-Fogleman Realtor. If you’re looking for some Christmas cheer, you’ll find it here! Stop in and enjoy.
