On Friday, September 18th, Bedford Area Chamber members turned out in number for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to welcome FINZ - the newest and most inviting spot on Bedford's beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, tiki torches, palms and all.  With only outdoor grills, nothing is fried - it's all grilled out of doors. Finz is designed to reflect the laid-back lifestyle associated with Jimmy Buffet's classic hit according to Rob Arigo of Finz Bar and Grille, which opened Aug. 7 at the site of the former Smith Mountain Lake Yacht Club in Bedford County. 

Rob says, "We are not looking for a tourist-season business.  We want to attract the lake's local clientele with reasonable prices, excellent food, and inviting surroundings." Fire logs, wide screen tv's, and comfortable seating invite you to "stay just a little longer". Finz regaled those in attendance with mouth-watering samples of their shrimp, chicken teriyaki, sliders, melons, and cheeses, followed up with a variety of sorbet and delicious cookies. 

Outdoor tables will soon be outfitted with propane heaters so even in the winter you can enjoy your grilled food out of doors under an umbrella with 80 degree temperatures.  Just picture that with falling snow!  Nowhere else but at Finz!
