85th Excellence in Business Awards Gala

Join us on September 12th at the bewitching Cedar Oaks Farm as we celebrate 85 years of service to the Bedford area business community & honor the recipients of our Excellence in Business Awards.

The Bedford Board of Trade voted to become the Bedford Chamber of Commerce in 1925, but we were not incorporated as a 501(c)6 nonprofit until 1939, which we recognize as our official anniversary. Just as Bedford has transformed over the past 85 years, so has our Chamber's focus and services -- however, our mission of serving businesses and bringing prosperity to our community has never wavered. Every year, we hold a formal sit-down dinner to reflect on the past year and charge towards the next, while celebrating the accomplishments of our Excellence in Business Awards recipients. The Annual Gala is our premier business gathering and largest fundraiser, and it was once recognized as the largest sit-down dinner in Virginia.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m.. Grab a cocktail from the cash bar and enjoy the beautiful views of Cedar Oaks as the sun sets over the Blue Ridge Mountains. There will be plenty of time for networking, and we are always graciously joined by civic, community, and commercial leaders from across the region. One of the Annual Gala's most renowned features is its extensive silent auction; last year, over 40 businesses and individuals graciously donated!

Dinner will be served starting at 6:00 p.m.. At 7:15 p.m., the awards presentation will begin. After all awards recipients have been revealed and honored, guests are invited to collect their silent auction items and depart for the evening.

Since we are celebrating our 85th anniversary, this year's Annual Gala has a "black tie" theme. Please wear very formal attire -- black ties and mid- and full-length dresses.

Please bring cash with you. We will have a 50/50 raffle, cash bar, and cashing out of the silent auction is always easier with actual cash -- it also means we don't incur fees from our card reader.

If you have a dietary restriction or require mobility accommodations, please reach out to Foster Garrett at marketing@baccva.org.
