About the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce

Since 1939, the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce has served as the voice and connector for businesses across our region, working every day to strengthen our local economy, empower our workforce, and build a thriving community.

We are a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization made up of business and community leaders who share one goal: to make the Bedford area the best possible place to live, work, and do business.

Our Mission

To be an organization of business and community leaders working together to serve the interests of our members by providing programs and services which improve the economic vitality of our community.

What We Do

From advocacy and education to networking and visibility, the Chamber provides year-round programs that connect, support, and elevate our members and community. Signature initiatives include:

  • Annual events such as the Excellence in Business Awards Gala, Job Fairs, Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast, Speed Networking, and Christmas Market.
  • Professional development through our S.M.A.R.T. Networking sessions.
  • Opportunities for members to build relationships through our Forest Leads Group, Ambassador involvement, and volunteer committees.
  • Marketing and exposure through digital promotions, member spotlights, and media partnerships.

Located in the Town of Bedford, the Chamber proudly serves the Town, Bedford County, and neighboring communities including Forest, Goode, Montvale, New London, Big Island, Smith Mountain Lake, and beyond -- extending our reach throughout the greater Lynchburg and Roanoke regions.

Together, we're shaping a stronger, more connected future for the Bedford Area.
